Carolyn Gusoff began her journalism career in the early 1980s at WEVU-TV and WLEQ-FM in Fort Myers, Florida, where she honed her skills as a reporter and anchor. 

In the late 1980s, she joined News 12 Long Island, establishing herself as a prominent local journalist.

In 1993, Gusoff moved to WNBC in New York City, where she served as the Long Island Correspondent and Bureau Chief for 15 years. 

During her tenure, she reported on major events, including the TWA Flight 800 crash, the Blizzard of 1996, and the American Airlines Flight 587 crash. She also co-anchored “Today in New York” weekend editions.

After departing WNBC in 2008, Gusoff joined WNYW Fox 5 in 2009, contributing to “Good Day New York” with breaking news coverage. In 2012, she transitioned to WCBS-TV as a Long Island reporter.

Gusoff’s career highlights include her extensive experience covering significant events, her leadership in Long Island journalism, and her ongoing contributions to WCBS-TV.
