Charlie Peters Career

Charlie Peters Career

Before university, he spent the summer of 2012 with Procter & Gamble. He shadowed an assistant brand manager in Weybridge for a month and finished with a marketing presentation. He also worked as an Athletic Lounge Host at the London 2012 Games, greeting athletes, coordinating schedules, and helping with media.

In 2015, he interned at Aspire Lifestyles in the Washington DC area, focusing on marketing and sales, and learned core client service and outreach skills.

Newsroom Internships and Student Media

While at university, he completed internships that introduced him to national news workflows.

At The Telegraph in March–April 2017, he worked with the Online Education Editor and Consumer Affairs Editor, producing stories on education policy and campus issues, editing commissioned comment, and supporting investigations for print in The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph.

In summer 2016, he interned at Spiked, helping with the Invoke Article 50 NOW! campaign, scheduling social content, publishing pieces on the site, contributing to external outlets, and doing live media, including primetime RTUK TV.

He also held a National Fellowship with The Tab from May to August 2016, gaining national desk experience in student media.

Consulting, Research, and Editorial Apprenticeships

Peters rounded out his early professional experience through short roles that built research, commercial, and editorial skills.

He worked as a freelancer with CIL Management Consultants in London from April 2018 to January 2019 on project-based assignments. In July 2018, he was a researcher with Charlotte Street Partners, contributing to analysis and client briefs.

From September 2017 to April 2018, he served as Guest Editor of Winchester College’s Wykeham Journal, commissioning and writing alumni features.

British Army Reserve and Mobilisation

Peters lists ongoing service as a reservist. From June 2020, he was mobilised from the Reserve for full-time duty until January 2021.

In that period, he provided strategic and tactical-level support to a Specialist Defence Unit on global counter-terrorism operations. Public summaries of this work are necessarily limited.

The experience adds formal training and operational exposure that inform his later reporting on security and policy.

Freelance Writer and Broadcaster

Before and alongside GB News, Peters built a portfolio as a columnist and commentator.

His writing credits include National Review, The American Conservative, The Daily Telegraph, The Spectator, Mail+, Quillette, UnHerd, spiked, and CapX.

On broadcast, he has appeared with Sky News, BBC TV, BBC Radio, RTUK, and STV. Typical work has included comment pieces, reported features, studio debates, and radio discussions on campus speech, policing, migration, and public administration.

GB News Investigates

Peters leads GB News’ investigations unit. He develops story leads, conducts source interviews, and scripts on-air packages.

The role spans desk research, field filming, and post-production. His pieces often follow multi-month reporting cycles and include survivor accounts, data requests, and policy scrutiny.

Beyond presenting, he produces specialist investigative packages and helps shape documentary strands that bring complex topics to prime time.
