Kunal Goswami Career

Kunal Goswami started his journey in the world of films with a role in the blockbuster movie Kranti in 1981.

Directed by his father, the legendary Manoj Kumar, this film gave him his first on-screen appearance. Though it was a small part, it was a major opportunity that introduced him to the film industry at a young age.

Stepping into Lead Roles (1983 – Late 1980s)

In 1983, Kunal made his debut as a lead actor with the film Kalakaar, opposite the famous actress Sridevi.

This movie is still remembered for the popular song “Neele Neele Ambar Par”, which became a classic. The song brought attention to the film and to Kunal as a fresh face in Bollywood.

That same year, he also acted in Ghungroo and Do Gulab, continuing to build his career as a romantic hero. Although his performances were noted, the films didn’t achieve big commercial success.

He continued acting in the mid to late 1980s in films like:

  • Ricky (1986) – a drama that didn’t make a strong mark at the box office.
  • Aakhri Baazi (1989) – an action-packed film where Kunal tried to shift from romantic roles to something more intense.

Struggles in the 1990s

By the early 1990s, Kunal was seen in several films, such as:

  • Paap Ki Kamaee (1990)
  • Numbri Aadmi (1991)
  • Vishkanya (1991)

Comeback with Jai Hind (1999)

After a long gap, Kunal returned to the screen in 1999 with the film Jai Hind, again directed by his father Manoj Kumar. The movie was filled with patriotism, much like his father’s earlier works.

However, the film could not revive his career. The audience’s taste had changed, and the film struggled to perform.

Shift to Television (2000)

In the year 2000, Kunal appeared in a television serial named Alag Alag, which aired on DD National.

This was a rare appearance on TV for him, and he did not continue working in television afterward.

A New Chapter – Business

With his acting career not taking off as expected, Kunal decided to step away from films.

He later moved to Delhi, where he started his own catering business. Since then, he has focused on his business and kept a low profile, rarely appearing in public or the media.
