Ravi Shastri‘s cricket journey began at Don Bosco High School in Mumbai.
At just 17 years old, he made his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai in 1980, becoming the youngest player to do so at the time.

Rise in International Cricket (1981–1992)
Ravi made his Test debut for India on February 21, 1981, against New Zealand.
He started as a left-arm spinner, but over time, transformed into a dependable all-rounder and a top-order batsman. He also made his ODI debut the same year, on November 25, against England.
One of the key highlights of his career was being a part of the 1983 World Cup-winning team under Kapil Dev’s leadership.
