India got thrashed in the first Test match by England in Hyderabad. England made an amazing comeback and won the match by 28 runs. Ollie Pope scored a fantastic 196 runs, and Tom Hartley, the left-arm spinner, also played exceptionally well. Ben Stokes, the captain of England, said it was their best win since he became captain. England was trailing by 190 runs after the first innings, but they turned things around dramatically on Day 3 and Day 4.

India must be feeling bad about this loss. They were in a strong position in the first two days but couldn’t keep up the momentum. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, blamed the top-order batsmen, including himself, for not playing well in the second innings when Ollie Pope was dominating.

Because of this loss, India has dropped to fifth place in the World Test Championship points table. Their percentage of points has gone down from 54.16 to 43.33. Australia is still at the top, even though they lost some points, followed by South Africa, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.

Despite winning, England remains in eighth place because they lost points due to their slow over-rate. The West Indies also stayed in seventh place despite beating Australia.
