The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 ended with a bang. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won their 3rd title, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) finished as runners-up. KKR won a huge prize of INR 20 crore, while SRH got INR 12.5 crore. The total prize money for IPL 2024 was INR 46.5 crore, shared among all top teams.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) also won prize money. RR, who finished 3rd, got INR 7 crore, and RCB, who finished 4th, got INR 6.5 crore.
Virat Kohli from RCB won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs and got INR 10 lakh. Harshal Patel from Punjab Kings won the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets and also got INR 10 lakh. Kohli scored 741 runs in 15 matches, with an average of 61.75, including one century and five fifties. His highest score was 113*, with a strike rate of 154.69. Harshal Patel took 24 wickets (in 14 matches) with an economy rate of 9.73 (An average of 19.87).
Nitish Kumar Reddy from SRH was named the Emerging Player of the Season, and Sunil Narine from KKR was the Most Valuable Player of the Year.
