Jee-Yun Lee has built a long and varied career in Canadian television news, moving from a small market newsroom to one of the busiest news channels in the country.
1990s: First job at CTV Saskatchewan
Lee started her journalism career at CTV Saskatchewan. In a small newsroom, she wore many hats, working as a videographer, anchor, weather reporter, producer, writer and lineup editor.
This early role gave her hands-on experience in almost every part of a television newsroom.
1997: Returns to Ontario with CHCH TV Hamilton
In 1997, Lee moved back to central Canada and joined CHCH TV in Hamilton, where she stayed for about five years. This period helped her grow as a reporter closer to home.
Citytv Toronto: Consumer specialist and host
Lee then spent around eight years at Citytv in Toronto. Her beats ranged from health to Queen’s Park to consumer stories, and she became known as a consumer specialist.
