Nick Dixon has spent more than two decades in Canadian television news.
His path runs from finance to local reporting, and then to anchoring some of Toronto’s best-known news programs.
1997 to 2000: Early years before journalism
After finishing his political science degree at McMaster University in 1997, Nick worked in the finance world before switching careers. He was employed at RBC during this period.
By 2000, he had decided to chase his real passion and returned to school for journalism.
2001 to 2004: Global News Toronto and Rogers Cable
Nick’s journalism career took off in the early 2000s. His second day as an intern at Global News Toronto was September 11, 2001.
He went on to work as a general assignment reporter and covered the Ontario Legislature as Global’s Queen’s Park reporter.
During this early stretch, he also reported for Rogers Cable in York Region.
2004 to 2016: Anchor and producer at CHCH Hamilton
