Anil Nagar was raised in a farmer’s family in UP’s Dankaur village. He opened his first startup, Career Power, in partnership with Saurabh Bansal.
Adda 247, an ed-tech platform, has successfully acquired Veeksha, a 3D learning product. The financial specifics of the transaction have not been disclosed by the company. Anil Nagar, the founder of Adda 247, initiated the acquisition.
Anil Nagar attended IIT BHU (Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University). He pursued his engineering studies at BHU from 1998 to 2002. Later, he completed his PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management) in Marketing and Finance from the Goa Institute of Management.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Anil Nagar hails from a small village in Uttar Pradesh. He strongly believes that education has the power to bring about a revolution and transform lives. With this vision in mind, he established Adda247. His goal is to make a significant impact on education by providing online learning resources in multiple Indian languages, all at an affordable cost.
After working at Cognizant for a few years, Anil Nagar experienced a realization during his corporate career. He felt a strong desire to pursue something meaningful in life. Motivated by his own struggles in finding proper guidance for IIT, he made a decision to assist aspiring individuals from small towns and villages. This led him to embark on a mission to support and guide those facing similar challenges.
In collaboration with Saurabh Bansal, Anil Nagar established his inaugural startup called Career Power.
The coaching institute, Career Power, primarily focused on aiding graduate students in successfully clearing government exams, particularly those for bank recruitment. Anil Nagar’s initial investment of Rs 1 lakh in 2010 remarkably grew to Rs 20 lakh within a year. As a result, the company gained widespread recognition and became one of India’s most renowned coaching centers.
In 2016, Anil Nagar founded Adda 247, which quickly gained immense popularity. The company operates multiple web portals catering to various competitive exams such as banking, SSC, teaching, defense, GATE, JEE, NEET, UPSC, and state-level exams. Adda 247 primarily focuses on serving students residing in Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 towns, making quality education and resources accessible to a broader audience.
In the previous year, Adda 247 successfully secured funding of Rs 280 crore. The company’s valuation is currently estimated at Rs 1400 crore.
Anil Nagar was brought up in a family of farmers in Dankaur.

Reportedly, Adda 247 boasts 50 million monthly active users, with a notable count of two million users who have opted for the paid subscription.
