Anu Aga is currently serving as the Director of Thermax Ltd, an engineering company specializing in energy and environment. She began working at the company in 1985 under the leadership of her husband, and assumed control in 1996 following his passing.

After resigning as the Chairman of Thermax Ltd in 2004, Anu Aga’s daughter Meher took over the position. Anu Aga, a UK-trained chemical engineer, dedicated her time to social work after retirement. She was awarded the Padma Shri for Social Work by the Government of India in 2010.
At present, Anu Aga holds the position of Chairperson at Teach For India. She was nominated to Rajya Sabha by President Pratibha Patil on April 26, 2012.

Anu Aga was born on August 3, 1942, in Bombay to a Parsi Zoroastrian family. She completed her graduation in Economics from St Xavier’s College and also studied at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Anu Aga was a Fulbright Scholar and had the opportunity to study in the United States for four months.
