Impressed by his skills, the company provided him training in ship designing and painting, eventually offering him a permanent position as a draughtsman.
As his income grew to Rs 300 per month, Ashok continued to harbor ambitions for a more significant impact on society. He enrolled in a diploma program while working, and after completing his studies, he was transferred to the quality control division of the dockyard. A trip to Germany on behalf of the corporation opened his eyes to the potential that lay within him, fueling his desire to achieve greater heights.
Drawing from his newfound purpose and armed with his brother’s support, Ashok Khade embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship, co-founding Das Offshore Engineering Private Ltd. The road to success was not without obstacles, but his unwavering perseverance eventually bore fruit, making his company a leader in the field.
Das Offshore Engineering Private Ltd. has earned a reputation for excellence, attracting esteemed clients such as ONGC, British Gas, Hyundai, Essar, and L&T. With a remarkable portfolio of 100 maritime projects, the company now employs around 4,500 people and boasts an impressive annual revenue of over Rs 500 crore.
