Making a name for yourself in showbiz without any powerful connections needs a ton of patience and hard work. One such star who started as a singer and now rocks the industry with his movies is Gippy Grewal.
Gippy used to do three jobs at once to gather money for his first music album. Before stepping into Punjabi films, he lived in Canada with his wife, juggling jobs like delivering newspapers, working in a factory, and cleaning food courts at a mall. His wife pitched in by making sandwiches at Subway. Gippy didn’t mind these jobs; he did them all with pride and honesty.
His journey in entertainment began with singing. His albums like “Chakkh Lai” and “Aaja Ve Mitraa” became hits, making him a big name in Punjabi music. Then he tried acting and nailed it with movies like “Mel Karade Rabba” and “Jihne Mera Dil Luteya.”

He’s all set for his next release, “Jatt Nuu Chudail Takri,” a horror comedy starring Sargun Mehta and Roopi Gill, hitting theaters on March 15, 2024.
