Hrithik Roshan, the Bollywood sensation, is currently grabbing headlines for his much-anticipated film ‘Fighter’ alongside Deepika Padukone. Despite his remarkable career, a notable stumble occurred in 2010 with the release of ‘Kites,’ directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Rakesh Roshan. This cinematic venture featured a star-studded cast, including Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranaut, and Kabir Bedi.

Although ‘Kites’ commenced on a promising note, its box office performance fell short, accumulating a mere Rs 48.56 crore against its substantial budget of Rs 82 crore.

This financial setback resulted in a significant loss of Rs 40 to 45 crores for the filmmakers. Regrettably, ‘Kites’ stands as one of Hrithik Roshan’s major cinematic disappointments, despite the initial buzz surrounding its ensemble.

The aftermath of ‘Kites’ saw a surge in speculation regarding Hrithik Roshan’s alleged closeness to Barbara Mori, contributing to the widening gap between him and his former spouse, Sussanne Khan.

Reports even circulated about Hrithik gifting Barbara a lavish vanity van valued at Rs 2 crore during their collaboration.

Following the film’s underwhelming performance, Barbara Mori faced professional challenges and struggled to secure roles within the Bollywood industry. Despite this setback, she exhibited resilience, recovering from breast cancer and subsequently featuring in a film titled ‘Perdidos en la noche.’

Beyond the glitz and glamour, Barbara Mori’s personal life unfolded with its share of twists. Having ventured into matrimony twice, her first relationship with actor Sergio Mayer resulted in a son, Sergio Mayer Mori, born in 1998. However, the couple soon parted ways.
