Jaya Ahsan’s journey in the entertainment industry is marked by versatility and talent. Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, she began her career as a model before venturing into acting with her debut television show titled “Panchomi,” scripted by Shahidul Haque Khan. Her noteworthy performances in various TV soaps, including “Labonyo Probha,” “Shonkhobash,” “Hatkura,” and “Choita Pago,” helped her make a lasting impression on the audience.
Transitioning to the silver screen, Jaya Ahsan not only made a mark in the Indian Bengali film industry but also garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades. Her stellar portrayals in films like “Zero Degree,” “Debi,” and “Beauty Circus” further solidified her position as a distinguished actress.
Jaya Ahsan’s international recognition extends to her work in an Iranian film titled “Fereshta,” which received acclaim and was screened at IFFI 2023. Now, poised to make her foray into Bollywood, Jaya is set to captivate audiences in “Kadak Singh” alongside the talented Pankaj Tripathi. Expressing her joy and gratitude, she shared, “It was a special moment – a day I cannot ever forget. Acknowledging the significance of her first Hindi language film, Jaya remarked, “This is my first Hindi language film, and as they say, ‘the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.’ Kadak Singh is my first step. This feeling is truly unique and is pure joy.” Reflecting on her international experience, she added, “I met and interacted with a lot of people and watched all my films. I also wanted to watch some other movies that were screened, but our schedule did not allow us the same. I feel extremely happy as an actor. The work of an artiste is to act. When our work goes beyond the boundaries of the country and enters the international arena, it feels even better.”
