Who is Parul Sharma?
Parul Sharma has played a significant role in shaping the communications strategy for “Star India,” under the leadership of Rupert Murdoch, for over 15 years. Her expertise has had a profound impact on the public relations efforts, stakeholder relationships, and overall corporate image of the company. Prior to her tenure at “Star India,” Parul Sharma had valuable experience working with the Cologne-based German broadcaster, “Deutsche Welle.”
After departing from Star in 2017, she made a deliberate shift to focus on photography and swiftly gained recognition in the field. She has become renowned for her international exhibitions, where she skillfully captures the interplay between architecture, urban landscapes, and the human form. Notably, her work documenting the Kumbh Mela was showcased in 2019 at the prestigious Marino Marini Public Museum in Florence.
In 2020, she released her book titled “Dialects of Silence,” which poignantly chronicles the hardships faced by migrants and the devastating impact of the Covid pandemic. According to Zee Business, another book titled “Colaba” is expected to be published later this year, further expanding her artistic contributions.
“We are delighted to have Parul on board as the Group President, and even though this is her initial formal association with the Group, she has always been an integral part of the extended Reliance family as Tony’s partner,” expressed Anil Ambani, as the company warmly welcomed Parul Sharma. Ambani further commented, “The cherished memories of Tony and his significant contributions to the Group make Parul’s arrival all the more meaningful and memorable.”
Parul Sharma acknowledges that stepping into Tony’s role is a challenging task, but she is determined to make him proud. Drawing from her experience working with international media outlets, she intends to infuse empathy and humanity into her approach to stakeholder management. According to her, Reliance Group is embarking on a transformative journey that seeks to uphold the enduring essence of its heritage.
