Prabhanjan J, a student from Tamil Nadu, and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh achieved a remarkable feat by jointly securing the top position in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam (NEET) UG 2023, each scoring a perfect 720 out of 720. Both candidates attained a 99.99 percentile in the exam, making them the highest scorers.
Prabhanjan J, hailing from Villupuram, credited his outstanding performance to rigorous practice with NEET-pattern questions. He expressed gratitude to his parents, teachers, and the school administration for their unwavering support throughout his journey. After completing Class 10 in the English-medium state matriculation course in Tamil Nadu, Prabhanjan switched to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Classes 11 and 12, where he underwent extensive NEET training to prepare for the exam.
During his upper secondary education, Prabhanjan resided in the dormitory at Velammal Vidyalaya in Ayanambakkam, Chennai. His parents, both teachers in government schools, played a significant role in his academic journey—his father, B Jagadeesh, taught history, and his mother taught mathematics. Prabhanjan scored an impressive 463 in his Class 12 exams.
Among the 20.38 lakh applicants, 11.45 lakh successfully passed the NEET exam. Prabhanjan J and Bora Varun Chakravarthi’s joint success stands as an inspiration for aspiring medical students across the country.
