Raaja Kanwar, an accomplished Indian businessman, currently serves as the Chairman and Managing Director of Apollo International Limited (AIL), a company he founded in 1994 with a mission to ‘Deliver Sustainable Value Creation.’ Son of the renowned Indian billionaire Onkar Kanwar, the founder of Apollo Tyres, Raaja Kanwar has carved a niche for himself in the business world.
Armed with a management degree from Drexel University in the US, Raaja is not only a business maestro but also an avid fitness enthusiast. His leadership at AIL, a part of the Apollo Group, has propelled the conglomerate to a substantial market capitalization of Rs 27,147 crore as of December 22.
Raaja Kanwar’s influence extends beyond the boardroom; he played a pivotal role in shaping the digital cinema landscape in India. His contributions were formally acknowledged by then-Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in 2006. Additionally, Raaja co-founded UFO Moviez and actively invests in start-ups focusing on innovative ideas and technologies.
