In Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Wednesday, Parakala Vangamayi, the daughter of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, tied the knot with Prateek in an intimate ceremony held at her residence. According to media reports, the wedding was graced by close friends and relatives, with no political leaders in attendance.

Vangamayi, following Brahmin traditions, married Prateek, who hails from Gujarat. The auspicious occasion was blessed by seers from the Udupi Adamaru Mutt. The wedding ceremony meticulously followed the Vedic rituals and customs of the Adamaru Mutt.

The bride adorned herself in a pink saree complemented by a green blouse, while the groom donned a white pancha (traditional dhoti) and shawl.

Who is Parakala Vangamayi?

Vangmayi Parakala, the daughter of Nirmala Sitaraman, the current Finance Minister of India, was born on May 20, 1991, in Chennai. Despite hailing from a prominent family, she has chosen to maintain a low profile and stay away from public attention.

Parakala Vangamayi holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Delhi University. Following her undergraduate studies, she spent a year in the United States, where she pursued a Master of Science degree in Journalism. It is believed that she specialized in magazine and photojournalism during her time there.

Currently, Vangmayi serves as a senior correspondent for a national newspaper, focusing her writing on subjects such as art, lifestyle, technology, and books.
