Omar Sachedina Career

Omar Sachedina started his TV news career at Citytv and CP24. Later, he joined CTV National News as a correspondent in Toronto in 2009.
In January 2008, he joined Canada AM during its expansion to live coverage across Canadian time zones. Along with co-host Mi-Jung Lee and weather presenter Rena Heer, Omar delivered the news updates for the show’s Western team.
During that same era, Canada AM’s on-air team also included anchors such as Seamus O’Regan, Beverly Thomson, Marci Ien, and Jeff Hutcheson.
At CTV, he later worked as CTV News National Affairs Correspondent and was part of CTV News’ federal election coverage teams in 2015, 2019, and 2021, reporting from the campaign trail and interviewing party leaders.
