- Restaurant image-use lawsuit (portrait rights): Park Seo-joon took legal action against a restaurant owner for using his image and a scene linked to What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim in promotions without permission. His agency said they had asked the business to stop since 2019, but the use continued. In July 2025, the Seoul Eastern District Court ruled partly in his favor and ordered the restaurant to pay 5 million won in damages. - An old 2014 interview comment resurfaced (June 2021): In June 2021, clips from a 2014 interview started circulating again online. In that interview, Park Seo-joon spoke about his “ideal” family life and said he preferred a situation where his wife would focus on raising the children at home, rather than working outside. He explained that this idea came from his own upbringing, where his mother mainly raised the children. Some viewers criticised the comments because they felt he was placing most child-raising responsibility on women. The criticism grew stronger because he linked a child’s upbringing to later behavior in a serious way, which some people felt was an unfair and old-fashioned view.
- “Headband” stage-greeting incident (August 2023): In August 2023, a video from a Concrete Utopia stage greeting spread online after he did not wear a headband that was offered to him. Some viewers criticized his reaction, while others defended his right to refuse. He later posted an apology message to fans and explained that he sweats a lot during stage greetings and had styled his hair firmly that day, so it was difficult to change.
