On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone by inaugurating, laying the foundation stone for, and dedicating more than 2,000 railway infrastructure projects, totaling around ₹41,000 crore, to the nation.

During the event, PM Modi commenced the groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of 554 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Additionally, he launched the construction of 1500 Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges across Indian Railways, all conducted through video conferencing.

As part of the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi officially opened the Gomti Nagar station in Uttar Pradesh, further adding to the list of accomplishments.

In his address, Modi expressed that these projects are a testament to the work ethos of ‘New India,’ emphasizing the positive impact on the youth.

He stated, “The youth will be the top beneficiaries of these projects. It will provide them with new employment opportunities. ‘Viksit Bharat’ is the Bharat of young aspirations. I want to tell the youth that your aspirations are my resolve! Your dreams and hard work combined with my resolve is the guarantee of ‘Viksit Bharat’.”

Highlighting the broader development initiatives, he mentioned inaugurating 5 AIIMS and various medical institutions the previous day in Rajkot.

Modi emphasized the scale of the effort, stating, “Today, the foundation stone for the re-development of 554 Railway stations in over 300 districts in 27 states has been done.“

The Prime Minister went on to announce the inauguration of the Gomti Nagar railway station in Uttar Pradesh and the foundation stone laying for 1500 Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges over Indian Railways.

In a forward-looking statement, PM Modi underlined the impressive scale and speed with which more than 2,000 railway-related projects have been initiated, setting the tone for the upcoming term starting in June.
