Rajat Sharma is a renowned Indian news Anchor, Editor, Businessperson, and television personality who has earned widespread recognition for his work on various television networks over the last three decades. He is best known as the host of the popular news show “Aap Ki Adalat“, which he has presented since 1992.

Rajat Sharma was born in Delhi, India, He was raised in abject poverty in India with six siblings, one sister, a crippled mother, father, and sister in a 100-square-foot house without electricity or running water.

He completed post-graduate studies in Commerce at Delhi University in 1982. After graduation, he began his career as an investigative journalist for local newspapers before joining All India Radio as a correspondent in 1985. It was during this time that he honed his skills as a journalist and became widely recognized for his keen observations and incisive interviews.

He admitted during a summit at IIT Bombay that he “used to study at Subzi Mandi railway station during night periods where there was light” because there was no power in their room. He said, “We used to sleep in shifts since there wasn’t enough room in a little 50 by 50-foot room for everyone.” Rajat Sharma’s family was impoverished and they were from Delhi.

Rajat Sharma started his career as a trainee at Onlooker magazine and then he went on to become editor in 1985. During this time he honed his skills as a journalist and earned widespread recognition then he shifted to Mumbai and where he joined Sunday Observer as an editor from there he went on to work at The Daily as an editor. It was in the year 1992 when he bumped into Subash Chandra of Zee News on a flight, there in a casual discussion the idea o Aap ki Adalat was formed and then he soon became one of the leading anchors on television.

Apart from Aap Ki Adalat, Rajat has also made appearances on several other shows. His powerful interviewing style, coupled with an ability to ask probing questions while maintaining cordiality has allowed him to become one of the most respected faces in Indian media today.
