As per the news published online on 31st Jan 2019, The Times Group had filed a case against Sucherita and Arnab Goswami. Both of the news anchors were accused of stealing intellectual property. Moreover, on 24th Jan 2019, India TV presented a long plaint stating why the news anchor should not be allowed to work with Republic TV. The multipage document states that Sucherita had already signed a three-year-long contract with India TV, which is supposed to end on 31st Nov 2019. However, the news anchor had already resigned from the position on 13th Dec 2018.
On the other hand, the contract’s terms clearly state that if a news presenter quits his or her job before the contract ends, then the individual has to pay back a huge sum of money equal to the six months’ salary.
