Many people who watched music videos in the 90s know Divya Khosla Kumar. Back then, she was very popular in music videos and people liked her a lot. After winning hearts with her songs, she decided to try acting in movies. In 2004, she started her Bollywood journey with a movie called ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Sathiyo’, where she acted alongside famous actors like Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Bobby Deol.
Unfortunately, the movie didn’t do well, which was sad for Divya’s career. But something good happened to her personally during the making of the movie. Bhushan Kumar, who is the boss of T-series, saw Divya on set and instantly fell in love with her.
Even though Divya’s family was traditional, Bhushan Kumar won them over by inviting them to his sister’s wedding. Her parents liked him, and they decided Divya and Bhushan should get married. Despite being rich, they had a simple wedding at Maa Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra on February 13, 2005. They have a son who was born in October 2011.
Divya has been married to Bhushan Kumar, who runs T-Series, for 19 years now. She faced rejection and her movies didn’t do well at first. But then she turned to directing. She directed two movies, ‘Yaariyan’ (2014) and ‘Sanam Re’ (2016).
In 2017, she returned to acting with a short film called ‘Bulbul’. In 2021, she acted with John Abraham in ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’. Her latest movie, ‘Yaariyan 2’, came out in 2023 and it’s a remake of a Malayalam film called ‘Bangalore Days’.
Divya Khosla Kumar is worth around $5 million, which is about Rs 42 crore. Her husband Bhushan Kumar and his family are very rich. In 2022, they were the 175th richest family in India, with a net worth of Rs 10,000 crores, which is around US$1.2 billion.
