Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah got in trouble for blocking Ollie Pope during a run in the first Test in Hyderabad. He got a warning from the ICC for this, as it was his first mistake in two years. The ICC said Bumrah broke the rule about touching players in the game. Umpires Paul Reiffel and Chris Gaffaney, and third umpire Marais Erasmus, saw what happened and told Bumrah off.

Bumrah agreed to the punishment given by match referee Richie Richardson, so there was no need for a big meeting about it.
