Lisa LaFlamme Career
Lisa LaFlamme began her TV news career at CKCO-TV in Kitchener in 1989. She started in newsroom roles and later became an anchor at the station.
She then moved into national news at CTV. She worked on CTV Newsnet (now CTV News Channel) and later co-hosted Canada AM from 2001 to 2003. During her time on Canada AM, she worked alongside Rod Black and later Seamus O’Regan as co-hosts.
In 2003, she joined CTV National News as a correspondent and substitute anchor with Lloyd Robertson. On September 5, 2011, she became the chief anchor and senior editor of CTV National News.
As the lead anchor, she fronted coverage of major national and global stories and also anchored big event coverage for CTV, including work connected to the London 2012 Olympic Games and a CTV News live special tied to the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May 2018.
Along with anchoring, she worked with many CTV colleagues and on-air contributors. This included political and Ottawa coverage with journalists such as Joyce Napier, who served as CTV News Ottawa Bureau Chief and appeared on CTV National News during LaFlamme’s time as chief anchor.
She also worked alongside CTV reporters, including Creeson Agecoutay, who has been a reporter and host with CTV National News.
On August 15, 2022, CTV announced it was ending her contract, and she was later replaced as anchor by Omar Sachedina.
In September 2022, Rogers Media hired her as a special correspondent for CityNews.
