Mark Madryga Career

Mark Madryga began his career with Environment Canada in September 1987. He trained in Toronto for about eight months and then worked at the Pacific Weather Centre in Vancouver. He spent 21 years there as a forecaster.

Mark started working at Global BC (then BCTV) in May 1994 as the weather anchor for the Noon News Hour.

In fall 1997, he moved to the weekend weather role. In September 2006, he joined the Morning News team.

Today, he is Global BC’s Chief Meteorologist. You can see him on Global News Morning BC and Global News at Noon BC, with regular weather updates on BC1. Along with anchors Jason Pires and Sonia Sunger, and traffic reporter Katelin Owsianski, he appears on Global News Morning BC.

On Global News at Noon BC, he appears with Coleen Christie.

Madryga also takes part in many charity events each year, including serving as MC at fundraising galas, luncheons, and weekend walks.
