The Chennai-born individual, Anurag Jain, aspired to be a rapid bowler in cricket. However, he abandoned his cricketing dream to prioritize his studies. A graduate of BITS Pilani, he became a successful businessman and presently co-owns a cricket team along with MS Dhoni-led IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings.

Jain is among affluent Indians investing in their passion to rival the popularity of basketball, baseball, and American football in the US with India’s favorite game. The list includes Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, fellow entrepreneurs, and tech tycoons like Sanjay Parthasarthy, Anand Rajaraman, and Venky Harinarayan. Jain, together with CSK, co-owns Texas Super Kings alongside his business partner, Ross Perot Jr.

Jain is a notable businessman and investor based in Dallas, Texas, USA. He serves as the Chairman and CEO of Access Healthcare, a company with a workforce of over 25,000 employees. Additionally, he is the Managing Partner of Perot Jain, a venture capital firm he co-founded with Perot Jr. Jain’s firm has invested in more than 70 companies. He previously established ventures like Brigade Corporation and IT outsourcing firm Vision Healthcare.

According to his company’s website, Jain owns 5-star hotels, JW Marriott in New Delhi Aerocity, and Hyatt Regency in Mumbai. He holds an engineering degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in Pilani and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Jain once disclosed that his company “nearly went bankrupt 17 times.” When he first arrived in the US from Chennai, he recalled being unable to afford even a cup of coffee. After starting his career in consulting, he transitioned to entrepreneurship after just one year as an employee.
