Gaurav didn’t even know about the tough UPSC exam until he read about it in the news. But once he found out, he decided to give it a shot. He had to face a lot of difficulties, but he didn’t give up.

His parents, especially his dad who ran a general store, supported him at every step. Even though the road was tough, Gaurav helped his father while preparing for the exam.

Gorakhpur is where Gaurav went to school before he cracked the IIT exam and got into IIT Roorkee for his B.Tech. He started preparing for the UPSC exam while studying at IIT. He made a study plan and gathered books to get ready for the test. But things weren’t smooth all the time.

He faced some tough moments, especially during the interview stage. But he didn’t let that stop him. Gaurav did well in general studies but had a hard time with geography. Even though Hindi resources were limited, he didn’t lose hope. He took a break in 2021, worked hard, and made changes to his optional subject. Finally, on his fourth attempt, he got an amazing rank of 226.

Gaurav also talks about the importance of staying healthy while studying hard. He faced stress and gained weight but found support from his family, especially his brothers. In just three months, he made an incredible transformation, going from 101 kg to 85 kg.
