Who is Namrata Jain?
Namrata, a native of the unrest-ridden Geedam village in the Dantewada region, completed her schooling there before transitioning to Durg for high school and Bhilai for an engineering degree. On her first try, she secured an AIR 99 and subsequently became an IPS officer. However, she decided to reapply for the UPSC examinations to fulfill her desire of becoming an IAS officer and achieved an impressive AIR 12 in CSE 2018.

During her educational journey, Namrata traveled alone from her home in Geedam to Durg and Bhilai, covering a distance of over 300 km. According to Namrata, candidates who possess financial stability should devote themselves entirely to their preparation instead of seeking employment. She emphasizes that clearing this exam demands unwavering dedication. Nevertheless, she believes that working while studying for the UPSC test can also lead to success, even if one’s financial situation is not stable.
She affirms that consistent and proper effort over a few years can bring about success. In case of failure on the first attempt, Namrata advises candidates to learn from their mistakes and strive for improvement in subsequent attempts.
IAS Namrata Jain’s approach
In the month preceding the UPSC CSE Prelims, dedicate as much time as possible to revision. The more you revise, the higher your chances of success become. It is advisable to avoid introducing new topics during this period. Allocate the last few weeks to reviewing everything you have learned so far, including essential NCERT books alongside your notes. This will further strengthen your foundation.
