India is home to a significant number of the world’s billionaires, many of whom are among the wealthiest individuals globally. These business magnates showcase a flamboyant lifestyle that surpasses the imaginations of ordinary people, indulging in opulent luxuries, such as yachts worth hundreds of crores that resemble palaces on water. The Indian billionaire is a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist, leading a vast business empire and making significant contributions to society.
Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, reportedly owns an ultra-luxury yacht shaped like a horseshoe, boasting a mind-boggling cost of $100 million. Stretching an impressive 58 meters, the yacht is replete with luxurious amenities, including private suites, a spa, a 25-meter swimming pool, and a lounge bar. Not to be outdone, his younger brother Anil Ambani, accompanied by his wife Tina Ambani, also purchased a yacht named TIAN, though the exact cost, rumored to be around Rs 200 crore, remains undisclosed.
In the past, former billionaire Vijay Mallya possessed one of the world’s most exquisite yachts, the Empress of India, which he acquired in 2006 for an undisclosed sum. The yacht’s previous owner was a UAE billionaire. In 2018, Mallya disclosed that he sold the 95-meter yacht for 43.5 million. Other prominent Indian billionaires who have yachts in their possession include Adi Godrej and Gautam Singhania.
However, the accolade for the most expensive yacht owned by an Indian belongs to steel magnate Indian Billionaire Lakshmi Mittal and his 262-meter Amevi superyacht. Ranked as the 7th richest Indian globally, Mittal has embarked on voyages not only to India but also to Spain, Gibraltar, and Norway aboard his lavish yacht. Reportedly costing around Rs 1,000 crore, the Amevi is equipped with luxurious features like a swimming pool, gymnasium, spa, and cinema hall.
