Who is Jay Mehta?
Jay Mehta, born on January 18, 1961, is the son of Mahendra Mehta and Sunayana Mehta. He is also the grandson of Nanji Kalidas Mehta, the owner of the multinational company known as the Mehta Group. Jay Mehta pursued his education at Columbia University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. He furthered his studies by completing his MBA at the International Institute of Management Development in Switzerland.

Jay Mehta is the head of The Mehta Group, a multinational company with operations spanning across Africa, India, Canada, and the United States. In addition to this, he is the proprietor of two other companies based in India, namely Saurashtra Cement Ltd. and Gujarat Sidhee Cement Ltd.

Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta’s love story
Prior to his relationship with Juhi Chawla, Jay Mehta was married to Sujata Birla, the sister of Yash Birla. The two crossed paths through filmmaker Rakesh Roshan when Juhi was working on the film Karobar. Rakesh Roshan introduced Jay to Juhi, but there was no instant love connection as the actress was primarily focused on her career, and Jay was devoted to his wife Sujata.
However, circumstances changed dramatically after the tragic demise of Sujata Birla in the plane crash of Flight 605 in the 1990s. It was during this challenging period that Jay and Juhi grew closer, with the latter providing support and helping the businessman navigate through the dark times.
As the couple made the decision to formalize their relationship and set a wedding date, tragedy struck again when Juhi’s mother passed away in a car accident. Despite the challenging circumstances, the couple proceeded with a secret wedding, and the news of their marriage came to light when they were expecting their first child. They have a daughter named Janhvi Mehta, born in 2001, and a son named Arjun Mehta, born in 2003.
