Jayshree Ullal completed her primary and secondary education at Jesus and Mary Convent School, located in New Delhi.
Jayshree Ullal, born in the UK and raised in the national capital, holds the distinction of being the wealthiest self-made woman of Indian origin. Serving as the President and CEO of Arista Networks since 2008, she has established herself as one of the most accomplished CEOs of Indian descent in terms of personal wealth. Her achievements place her in the league of notable leaders like Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella, who helmed some of the world’s largest IT firms.
After completing her schooling at Jesus and Mary Convent School in New Delhi, Ullal ventured to the United States for her higher education. She pursued a degree in electrical engineering from San Francisco State University and subsequently obtained a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University.
In 2008, Ullal became a part of the company when it had a mere 50 employees and had not yet generated any revenue. Fast forward to 2020, and the company’s revenue soared to an impressive 2.3 billion dollars. During that same year, she also took on a position on the board of Snowflake.
With a staggering net worth of 2.2 billion dollars (approximately Rs 18,100 crore), Ullal owes her wealth to her significant 5 percent stake in the company. She embarked on her professional journey at Advanced Micro Devices before spending four years at Ungermann-Bass. Later, she joined Crescendo Communications, which was eventually acquired by Cisco, making her a part of the Cisco family. Over her impressive 15-year tenure at Cisco, she ascended to one of the top positions within the company.
In 2008, Ullal became a part of Arista, a company focused on cloud networking. She played a pivotal role in leading the company when it successfully launched its IPO in 2014.
Ullal is married to Vijay Ullal, and together they have two daughters. They currently reside in California.
It is worth noting that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has a net worth of approximately Rs 6,200 crore.
As for her company, it boasts an impressive market capitalization of around Rs 3.4 lakh crore.
