Zorawar Ahluwalia, born on February 20, 1987, hails from a middle-class Sikh family in Chandigarh. He attended Bishop Cotton School in Shimla for his schooling and pursued BBA from Punjab College of Technical Education. Later, he obtained an MBA in Marketing & Finance from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management in 2010.

Following his post-graduation, Zorawar gained valuable experience as a marketing executive at Paras Spices Pvt Ltd in Ludhiana for a year. He then joined United Breweries in 2011 as a key accounts executive. After a brief stint as a relationship manager at HT Media Ltd, Zorawar joined Diageo India, a leading global alcoholic beverage company. He dedicated seven years to the organization before making the decision to leave his well-paying job in 2021.
