Lavanya Nalli is an Indian businesswoman and the vice-chairman of Nalli Silk Sarees, a renowned family business. As a fifth-generation member of the Nalli Group, Lavanya first joined the company in 2005 and worked for four years. However, she temporarily left to pursue an MBA from Harvard Business School. Following her education, she gained professional experience at McKinsey & Company in Chicago for over two years.

After her stint at McKinsey, Lavanya returned to India and took on the role of vice president for revenue at Myntra. Her tenure at Myntra ended in 2015. In 2016, Lavanya re-entered the family business, Nalli, as its vice chairman. In this capacity, she spearheaded the e-commerce and Omnichannel platform. Notably, Lavanya is the first woman from her family to join the business.

Lavanya Nalli holds an engineering degree in computer science from Anna University in Chennai. During her earlier tenure with Nalli from 2005 to 2009, she played a significant role in doubling the company’s revenues and expanding its presence from 14 to 21 stores.

At 39 years old, Lavanya has accumulated 18 years of experience in retail, strategy, operations, and e-commerce. She resides in Bengaluru and is married to Abhay Kothari, whom she met during her time at Harvard. The couple tied the knot in 2011.
