This year, there are 933 qualifiers in the civil services, and among them is a couple from Kerala who successfully cracked the UPSC CSE 2022 together.
The Union Public Service Commission declared the results for UPSC CSE 2022 on Monday, May 23. Out of the 933 candidates who qualified in the Civil Services exam, two candidates from Kerala, Malavika G Nair (28) and Dr. M Nandagopan, were among the qualifiers.
It is quite rare to see a married couple qualifying together for the toughest exam in the world, UPSC CSE. The fact that Malavika G Nair (28) and Dr. M Nandagopan cracked the exam as a couple is truly remarkable. They have truly earned the title of a power couple.
Malavika G Nair achieved an impressive 172nd rank in the UPSC CSE, while her husband, Dr. M Nandagopan, secured the 233rd position. This year marked Malavika’s fifth attempt and Dr. Nandagopan’s sixth and final attempt. Their perseverance and dedication have truly paid off.
According to reports, Malavika is an alumna of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Goa). After qualifying for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) in 2020, she assumed the role of Income Tax Assistant Commissioner in Mangalore. Her achievements highlight her remarkable academic background and successful career in the government sector.
Malavika is the daughter of KG Ajith Kumar, a retired Deputy General Manager from Kerala Financial Corporation, and Dr. PL Geethalakshmi, a gynecologist. On the other hand, Nandagopan is the son of Dr. S Pratibha, a senior consultant at Kozhencherry District Hospital, and his father retired as a chief manager from IOB (Indian Overseas Bank). Nandagopan himself is currently employed in the Pathanamthitta District Mental Health Program. Their family backgrounds reflect a combination of accomplished professionals in various fields.
