Rakesh Makhija is currently serving as the Chairman of SKF India Ltd. His LinkedIn profile indicates that he holds positions on the boards of several prominent companies, including Axis Bank, Tata Technologies Ltd., TML Drivelines Ltd., Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd., and A. Treds Ltd. He is a chemical engineer and a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi.

With a career spanning over forty years, Rakesh Makhija has made substantial contributions to the industrial and technology sectors in both India and abroad. He has been associated with the SKF Group in various capacities, including serving as the President of the Industrial Market (Strategic Industries) and a member of the Group Executive Committee in Sweden until December 2014. Additionally, he held the position of President of SKF Asia, overseeing China and India, and joined the SKF Group Management in 2010.

Rakesh Makhija’s leadership played a crucial role in the growth and success of SKF India during his tenure as its Managing Director from 2002 to 2009. Under his guidance, SKF India achieved a significant increase in sales and received multiple industry awards for market leadership.

Prior to his time at SKF, Rakesh Makhija held senior management roles at Tata Honeywell and later Honeywell International. In June 1997, he was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata Honeywell. Subsequently, he became Honeywell International’s Country Manager and Managing Director in April 2000, where he was responsible for driving business expansion in South Asia.

Before joining Honeywell, Rakesh Makhija worked for over eight years at the Dutch process engineering and contracting firm Kinetics Technology International BV, which is now known as Technip.
