She began modeling when she was young and acted in Tamil movies like ‘Puthiya Vaarpugal’ and ‘Niram Maratha Pookkal’. Despite being Punjabi, people liked her acting in Tamil movies. She later moved to Hindi cinema with ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’ and became famous for her acting.
In the mid-80s, Rati was a top actress in Hindi films. But then she met Anil Virwani, a businessman from Mumbai, and everything changed. Rati’s parents didn’t like Anil, but she dated him and they got married in 1985. After marriage, Rati stopped working to focus on her family.
