Richard Lobo, a seasoned executive who previously worked at the IT company Infosys, has taken on a new role at the prominent edtech company Byju’s. Lobo’s task will be to oversee the human resource functions of the company. After dedicating 23 years to his career at Infosys, where he held various leadership positions, including his recent role as the executive vice president and head of human resources, Lobo has joined Byju’s, as stated by the edtech firm.

Expressing his enthusiasm for his new position, Lobo stated, “I’m excited to take on this important role and collaborate closely with the Byju’s team to build upon their accomplishments and contribute to preparing the organization for the future.” Lobo initially joined Infosys in the year 2000. The current market value of the company stands at Rs 5,77,000 crore as of August 14, 2023, and its share price on Monday was Rs 1,392.95.

Lobo had been leading the human resources division at Infosys from 2015 to 2023. According to MoneyControl, his tenure at Infosys concluded on August 31, 2023. Prior to his association with Infosys, Lobo had also been associated with the Godrej Group, where he served as an Assistant Manager in the Sales and Marketing department.

He worked at Godrej and Boyce Mfg. from January 1996 to December 2000. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology (1989-1993) and also completed PGDM in Marketing and Finance from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

Richard Lobo is recognized for introducing technology and analytics to the HR function as Infosys expanded its reach to become a global leader in technology and consulting.
