Who is Ritu Karidhal? Chandrayaan 3 shall transport six payloads, comprising of lander, rover, and propulsion module.

Today, at 2.35 pm, ISRO will commence the Chandrayaan 3 mission from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The occurrence holds scientific, geopolitical, and strategic significance. If successful, India shall join the esteemed group of nations that have triumphed over Earth’s natural satellite.

Chandrayaan 3 will transport six payloads, including a lander, rover, and propulsion module. Leading this crucial mission is India’s own accomplished rocket woman, Ritu Karidhal Shrivastava.

Ritu Karidhal is a scientist at ISRO. She serves as the mission director for the Chandrayaan 3 mission. She hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.

Ritu Karidhal was also involved in the Mangalyaan mission. She held the position of deputy director for the Mars mission. Currently, she spearheads this significant space mission.

Ritu Karidhal was born and raised in Lucknow. She completed her MSc in Physics from Lucknow University. Subsequently, she pursued studies at the esteemed Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru. Later, she embarked on her career at India’s space agency, ISRO. Her expertise lies in Aerospace.

She is also renowned as India’s Rocket Woman. She has been associated with ISRO since 1997.

Ritu Karidhal has been honored with several awards, including the Young Scientist Award, ISRO team award, ASI team award, Aerospace Woman award from the Society of India Aerospace Technology and Industries, etc.

Chandrayaan 3 will not include an orbiter on this occasion. The scientists are sending a domestically developed propulsion module.

The Chandrayaan 3 mission, worth Rs 615 crore, will accomplish the journey to the moon in 50 days. It will touch down on the moon’s southern pole.
