IAS officer Saksham Goel accomplished a remarkable feat by cracking the highly challenging UPSC Civil Services exam on his first attempt, without seeking any coaching assistance. This exam is known for its rigorous nature and is often attempted multiple times by even the most brilliant individuals. Numerous aspirants invest years of dedicated effort, engaging in extensive self-study and receiving guidance from teachers.

Saksham Goel, a resident of Agra, achieved success in cracking the exam on his first attempt. He completed his 10th grade in Agra and then moved to Delhi in 2015, where he successfully completed his 12th grade at Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj.

Following his schooling, Goel enrolled at St. Stephen’s College in Delhi to pursue a degree in economics and political science. During his college years, he began his preparation for the exam and dedicated six to seven hours daily to his studies. While he availed online classes, his main focus remained on self-study.

Goel expressed his calm demeanor during the 30-minute interview round and stated that he did not feel nervous at all. He faced a total of 35 questions from the interviewers. Saksham achieved an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 27 in the UPSC exam held in 2021.
