Every year, many people in India aim to become IAS, IPS, IRS, and IFS officers bypassing the tough Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam. Preparing for this exam is hard work and requires spending a lot of time every day. Some people even quit their well-paying jobs at big companies to focus on studying.

Vinayak Mahamuni worked very hard during his UPSC journey. He left his job at a big foreign company to pursue this dream.

Originally from Maharashtra, Vinayak Mahamuni used to work at IBM, a famous American tech company. He graduated with a degree in Petrochemical Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University in 2012 and then started working at IBM. However, after three years, he decided to leave IBM to prepare for the UPSC exams.

Vinayak faced many failures before succeeding in the UPSC exams. He failed the UPSC Prelims three times. Initially, these failures made him want to give up, but with support from his family and friends, he kept trying. His father was a constant source of encouragement.

Vinayak cleared both the UPSC Prelims and Mains exams on his fourth attempt but failed the interview. However, he remained hopeful and confident. Finally, in 2020, on his fifth attempt, Vinayak became an IAS officer, securing 95th rank.
