Ramya Pandian began acting on screen with the Tamil film Dummy Tappasu (2015), where she played Sowmiya. In the film, she worked as the female lead opposite Praveen Prem.
In 2016, she got wider attention with Joker (2016), a Tamil political satire directed by Raju Murugan. She acted with Guru Somasundaram and Gayathri Krishnaa in the lead cast.
