Samantha Nutt is a Canadian physician and humanitarian. She was born in October 1969 (56 years old) in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.

She is best known as the founder and president of War Child Canada, and she also leads War Child USA. Her work focuses on helping children and families affected by armed conflict. War Child Canada says she founded the group in 1999 after working as a young doctor with children living through war.

Samantha has also worked with the United Nations and other humanitarian groups in several crisis-affected countries. 

She has written a book called “Damned Nations: Greed, Guns, Armies and Aid” (2011), which draws on her experience in conflict zones and critiques how war and aid can fail civilians.
