Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the brother of Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, passed away today due to an illness. He was born in Al Ain in 1965 and had been serving as the representative of the ruler of Abu Dhabi since June 2010. Additionally, he held the position of Undersecretary in the Department of Planning in Abu Dhabi and also served as Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s representative.

In a statement issued by the Court on July 22, it was mentioned that Sheikh Saeed was facing a health problem, and prayers were offered for his quick recovery. As a mark of respect, flags will be flown at half-mast for the next three days, starting today, Thursday, July 27, and concluding on Saturday, July 29.
During his tenure, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed also served as the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Port Authority and was a former member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADCED).
