Shoaib Akhtar, the famous Pakistani fast bowler, praised Virat Kohli, the Indian cricketer, for reaching 50 centuries in One Day Internationals (ODIs). He called Kohli the best batsman of the modern era and expressed his wish for him to achieve a century of centuries.

Akhtar, who is in the UAE for the second season of the International League T20, where he is a brand ambassador and commentator, mentioned that if Kohli had played during his time, he might have faced challenges but still would have scored a lot of runs.

Akhtar compared the eras by talking about how Sachin Tendulkar played with a ball that would reverse swing against some of the world’s best bowlers. He emphasized that Sachin is the greatest ever, mentioning other legendary players like Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, and Shane Warne.

Akhtar acknowledged that facing bowlers like Wasim Akram is not easy but believes Kohli would have been competitive even in his era. He praised Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era and highlighted that both eras cannot be compared. Akhtar expressed his admiration for Kohli’s achievements and expressed his desire to see him score a hundred centuries.
