Mohammed Siraj, one of Team India’s top fast bowlers, wasn’t playing in the second Test against England. Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, said this when he decided to bat first after winning the toss in Visakhapatnam.

Siraj didn’t play much in the first Test in Hyderabad. He only bowled 11 overs in the whole match. But don’t worry, Siraj isn’t injured. Rohit Sharma said they gave him a break to rest and manage his workload.

During the toss, Rohit Sharma told Ravi Shastri that they made two changes in the team: Jadeja and KL Rahul were out, and Siraj was rested too. They brought in Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav, and Rajat Patidar made his debut. Because Siraj wasn’t playing, Avesh Khan joined the team.

Siraj has been playing non-stop since the Asia Cup last year. He played in the 2023 ODI World Cup and went to South Africa too. He got a break before the T20I series against Afghanistan. Then he played in the England Tests.

Siraj is an important bowler for India, especially without Mohammed Shami. But since the pitch in Visakhapatnam is good for spinners, they decided to give Siraj a rest and play Mukesh Kumar instead.
