In 2001 the 18-year-old Errol Barnett was offered his first job as the youngest news anchor and reporter for the youth-oriented by Channel One News in their Los Angeles-based division. While he was still a college student got the job before completing his graduation, he worked for Channel One News during his summer holidays. At a very young age, Barnett got the opportunity to work with Melissa Knowles, Gotham Chopra, and other legendary reporters.

While attending college Errol reported from the US Capitol during the passage of the Homeland Security Act, and from the United Nations when Colin Powell presented flawed WMD intelligence. He also covered Barack Obama’s breakout DNC keynote speech.
