Aditya Mittal, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of ArcelorMittal, has been leading the company since February 2021. He is the son of renowned Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, who serves as the executive chairman of the company.

According to Forbes, ArcelorMittal reported a net income of USD 9.3 billion in 2022, equivalent to around Rs 73,090 crore in Indian currency. Before assuming the role of CEO, Aditya previously held the positions of President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at ArcelorMittal. His father, Lakshmi Mittal, is a well-known billionaire and ranks as India’s second-richest metal and mining billionaire, with a net worth of approximately Rs 1,36,100 crore as of July 23, 2023, according to Forbes.

At 47 years old, Aditya Mittal is married to Megha Mittal, and together, they have three children. Beyond his business endeavors, Aditya actively engages in philanthropy, with a special focus on child health. His sister, Vanisha Mittal Bhatia, also plays a role as a director of ArcelorMittal.

Aditya pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Wharton School in Pennsylvania, US. Although born in India, he was raised in Indonesia and attended high school at Jakarta International School. He joined the family business in 1997 and was appointed Head of Mergers and Acquisitions in 1999.

Throughout his career, Aditya Mittal has held various senior leadership roles, including overseeing the Group’s flat carbon steel businesses in the Americas and Europe. His journey started at Ispat International in 1997 when he joined Credit Suisse, where he worked in the investment banking division.
