In a remarkable achievement, Swayam Shakti Tripathy, hailing from Odisha, has secured an all-India rank (AIR) 8 with an impressive 99.9 percentile score in this year’s NEET (UG) examination. NEET, known as one of India’s most challenging medical admission exams, sees lakhs of aspiring doctors vying for limited seats.

Tripathy’s journey to success has been marked by determination and hard work. Dedicatedly studying for 12 to 13 hours each day, he began his NEET preparation in class 11 with a focus on UG coaching and relied on NCERT textbooks and course materials.

“I was confident about clearing the NEET exam as I had put in rigorous effort during the last two years,” shared Swayam, whose father is a professor of electrical engineering at Odisha University of Technology and Research, and whose mother is a homemaker. The unwavering support from his family and school instructors played a pivotal role in his achievement.

In class 12, Swayam secured an impressive 98.6%, laying a strong foundation for his medical aspirations. He emphasized the importance of thorough preparation for NEET exams, stressing on time management, planning, and seeking tutoring if needed.

Looking ahead, Swayam aspires to pursue MBBS and surgery post-graduate degrees at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
